Pat McLaughlin's Profile

Pat has a Physical Education degree and a PhD in biomechanics, having spent the early part of his career in the Victoria University biomechanics laboratory environment and working with elite sports in the analysis of techniques. More recently his teaching and research focus has been in the evidence-informed practice space and clinical education. Pat combined his teaching and research with various leadership roles within the College of Health and Biomedicine, including the Director of Teaching and Learning, where his role focussed on accreditation, quality assurance and continuous improvement practices across all health and biomedicine courses during a period of transition at VU. Pat moved into the role of Director, Education Services at La Trobe University in March, 2024. In this role he works with a great team of education designers, advisors and tech support experts to support the work of Teaching and Learning academics across the organisation. Pat is also a Board Member of the Australian Osteopathic Accreditation Council (AOAC) and continues in an adjunct research role at Victoria University.
