Jacqui McManus's Profile
Jacqui is currently working in the central learning and teaching unit in the Division of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education and Students), leading a strategic project around course curriculum. Her previous role at UTS was in the Faculty of Transdisciplinary Innovation designing curriculum and researching transdisciplinary learning. Jacqui’s research interests in professional work and learning have predominantly focused on developing capacity in workers (career development and leadership), the future of work as well as organisation performance and change. Jacqui spent the first 10 years of her professional career working as a Chartered Accountant and later specialised as a corporate tax consultant, with particular expertise around the taxation of cross-border transactions. She then moved into the higher education sector first as a tax academic and then turning her focus to the area of professional work and learning. In addition to typical teaching responsibilities in academia, Jacqui has developed an expertise in curriculum design; she has initiated, designed, developed, maintained and reviewed numerous new undergraduate and postgraduate higher education programs and courses in the areas of tax and education over the past twenty years. Her experience extends beyond academic programs to include work-based programs and continuing education. In particular, Jacqui also has extensive experience in working with organisations to design bespoke professional learning experience including professional bodies and public sector organisations in Australia and internationally such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Australian Taxation Office, Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Australia, The Thai Tax Judges and China’s State Tax Administration.
