Challenge accepted! Re-assessing assessment in 2020
COVID-19 has presented many challenges to learning and teaching, but perhaps the greatest disruption has been to the assessment of learning. Traditional assessment practices requiring on-campus attendance have been reimagined. For some, the constraints of COVID have provided a catalyst for innovation in assessment.
Submissions are invited for short (5 minutes) presentations that share approaches to conducting assessment, which are new, innovative and inspiring. This includes presentations on leading and supporting assessment transformation, as well as exemplars of good practice in redesigned assessment during COVID-19.
Presentations will form part of the CAULLT virtual conference: #outoftheblue: A virtual journey through resilience, reimagining and recovery. The session will take place between 1pm and 2pm on Thursday 12 November, following keynote presentations. Your presentation may take the form of captured media (video format) or be presented live on the day (timed strictly to 5 minutes).
Abstracts of no more than 250 words, which outline the context and nature of the assessment challenge/s, the innovative approach, and the resulting assessment/s and outcomes should be sent to Professor Jillian Hamilton at jg.hamilton@qut.edu.au (cc’ing CAULLT Secretariat secretariat@caullt.edu.au) by CoB 19 October 2020. (The session time accommodates up to 10 presentations, and a selection process may be necessary if the number of submissions exceeds this).
